room2 Hammersmith operates as Lamington Group’s research and development lab. A scaled-back version of the full hometel model, it retains the flexibility and personality that define the brand. Formerly a dilapidated 15-bedroom B&B, the building was acquired and transformed through a series of extensions and a full conversion into its current form, followed by a comprehensive energy retrofit completed in 2024.

The fully electric hometel is powered by 100% renewable electricity and supported by an air source heat pump and on-site solar panels. Where energy demand cannot be reduced further, operational emissions are offset through nature-verified carbon removal projects, enabling guests to enjoy a carbon neutral stay. room2 Hammersmith has been recognised with a Green Tourism Gold award.
