Introduction
This statement sets out the steps The Agate Properties Limited, trading as Lamington Group, takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. It covers the calendar year 2026.
This is a voluntary statement. Our group turnover is below the £36 million threshold in section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, so we are not legally required to publish one. We publish it because we want to be open about how we manage these risks, and we have followed the structure the Act recommends.
Our business
Lamington Group is a real estate investment, development and operational business based in London. We develop property and operate hometels, serviced apartments, rental homes, coworking space and food and drink outlets in the UK, under brands including Second Nature, Winnie's, Missionworks, Lamington Apartments, Lamington Lettings and Lamington Developments.
Our supply chains
Our main supply chains include construction and development (contractors, materials and fit-out), hotel operations (cleaning, laundry, maintenance and security services), food and drink, furniture and equipment, and professional services. We recognise that construction, cleaning, hospitality and the manufacture of goods are sectors with a higher risk of modern slavery.
Our policies
- We pay the real Living Wage as an accredited Living Wage employer.
- As a certified B Corp, we are assessed on how we treat our workers, our communities and our suppliers.
- We carry out right-to-work checks before anyone joins us, as UK law requires.
- Employees can raise concerns confidentially, without fear of reprisal, through our speak up process.
Due diligence and risk
We expect our suppliers and contractors to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and to apply the same standards in their own supply chains. During 2026 we will focus our due diligence on higher-risk areas, including construction labour, outsourced cleaning and housekeeping, and agency staff, and we will act where we find concerns, up to and including ending a supplier relationship.
Training
During 2026 we will raise awareness of modern slavery with the teams who manage suppliers, recruitment and our properties, so they can recognise the signs and know how to report them.
Reporting a concern
If you suspect modern slavery connected with our business, tell us through our speak up process. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. You can also contact the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700.
Looking ahead
We will keep this statement under review, strengthen our supplier checks in higher-risk areas and report on our progress each year.
