HOUSE MANAGER

ROOM2 SOUTHAMPTON

Salary : £35,000 – 40,000 per annum

 

About the role

As our House Manager you will be responsible for managing, setting and executing exceptional service standards as well as leading the day-to-day operations and managing your team in a flat and informal environment. In this role you will report directly to the Operations Manager.  

  • You are the brand ambassador for room2, you will lead by example and be the face of your site  
  • You will have a handle on the entire operation, treating it with the love and passion as if it were your own business 
  • Work closely with the HO team to ensure we are evolving and improving our offerings. Support and lead onsite the continuous evolution of a creative, lean, forward-thinking brand

 

People 

  • Accountable for staff satisfaction and retention 
  • Manage HK, Maintenance, FOH Managers and F&B. Escalation point for all teams
  • Monthly HOD rota’s and responsible for ensuring all departments have the appropriate staff cover throughout the year 
  • Have set structure for daily, weekly and monthly individual and team meetings 
  • Carry out appraisals/reviews and produce PDP’s for all staff 
  • Responsible for ensuring that all team members have the appropriate level of training 
  • Lead on all new recruitment, manage any disciplinary matters and track + report sickness

 

Finance & Revenue Management  

  • P&L accountability for all on-site departments, working within agreed operational budget 
  • Daily forecasting updates and performance for the onsite team
  • STR review and assessment
  • Weekly yield reporting, insights and updates
  • Bi-monthly forecasting insights and support
  • Inventory manipulation and overbooking management
  • Monthly reporting on revenue performance
  • Carry out effective revenue management practices in line with group-wide strategy
  • Sign off monthly payroll 
  • Approve external supplier payments 

 

Operations & Reporting 

  • OOO rooms to be checked daily to minimise time unavailable. If it’s broken, fix it. 
  • Monitor and respond to guest reviews, report weekly to senior management
  • VIP and special guest management
  • Build and manage high-level external relationships and partnerships
  • Business development responsibility in collaboration with the central sales team to promote business and build a strong corporate customer base 
  • Accountability for the effective management of hotel PMS
  • Management of corporate accounts and contract negotiation
  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge of hotel facilities, capabilities and possess good local market knowledge
  • Development of local customer journey touchpoint initiatives to enhance the overall experience of room2 brand
  • Local liaison for room2 social media and digital platforms in conjunction with direction from the central marketing team
  • Perform duty management responsibilities as and when required
  • Review SOP’s on a quarterly basis to ensure they are up-to-date, draft any new SOPs as and when required 
  • Track and report against an agreed set of KPI’s
  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for HO as directed 
  • Ensure the site is compliant with room2 brand standards at all times 
  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of H&S
